The Vice President of Safety plays a critical role on our executive team by building and driving our Safety culture here at GO Riteway Transportation Group.
As member of company executive management team, provide strong organizational management and leadership to promote our number one corporate value … SAFETY. Accountable for overall company safety programming and performance results. Lead company Safety Team to partner with company managers and staff to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. Anticipate risk and minimize company losses with regard to all aspects of employee, vehicle and facility safety. Establish and maintain safety Best Practices that are documented and used for training and accountability throughout the organization. Represent GO Riteway as needed in front of governmental entities and associations. Recommend strategies that build and maintain industry best safety standards and programming and that reflect organization’s commitment to safety.
Partners and collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders to proactively champion an industry leading safety culture
Manages risk and develops strategies to minimize vehicle crashes, equipment damage and reduce costs associated with insurance
Ensures Organizational Compliance with applicable Federal, State, Local and DOT Laws
Must be able to obtain and/or retain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a “P”, “S” and “Air Brake” endorsements.
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Related Field.
Demonstrated skills involving the use of computers and other office equipment. Excellent knowledge of MS Word and Excel are required.
Experience directing and managing a company-wide safety program.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and with external customers.
Work collaboratively with others.
Ability to manage and resolve conflict.
Minimum 10+ years management or supervisory experience.
Prior experience in vehicle transportation industry
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups
