POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Manager, Best Practices will lead important long-term company initiatives to develop, organize, train and institutionalize industry leading policies and Best Practices (operating procedures). This Manager will work with company management organization to ensure that all employees are trained appropriately and that periodic compliance audits are conducted by department. Manager’s efforts will support the building of strong organizational systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Policy – Develop, document, organize and maintain all company policies for clear communication and reference as needed. Ensure that all policies are in compliance with all current external laws and legal recommendations to minimize company risk. Ensure that regular training occurs for key policies.

Best Practices – Facilitate the development, documentation, organization, and maintenance of operational Best Practice procedures in cooperation with stakeholders across the company. Challenge company departments to continuously work to develop information systems that align with Best Practices and measure the effectiveness (results) of established company Best Practices.

Compliance – Support the development, organization maintenance of all company compliance checklists that keep the company current and compliant with all governmental and customer standards including safety, HR, Finance, Maintenance and Operations. Ensure that internal compliance audits are performed by appropriate departments periodically as required.

Training – Organize company initiatives to train appropriate employees on company policies and procedures. Develop and maintain curriculums, train internal trainers, and schedule training by position as needed during slow operating time periods (Nov-Dec, Jun-Jul).

 

KEY RESULT AREAS

 Organize, maintain, develop, create company policy, and best practice documentation (50%)

    • Work with HR to audit, catalog, and ensure appropriate employment policies exist.
    • Work with  Sr. Managers to create procedures documenting existing best practices. Ensure communication and training of best practices occurs.
    • Create a process for scheduled periodic updates to all company policies and procedures.
    • Tracks the communication and compliance of existing processes and procedures to move the company forward in a professional consistent manner.
    • Maintain the company Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Track policy and procedural compliance annually   (30%)
    • Create and maintain compliance checklists for all regulated departments and processes in the organization.
    • Develop training schedules or lesson plans for various levels of the organization.
    • Develop and manage methods of tracking what trainings are complete, how often they are completed and what needs to be trained on.
    • Work with a mind toward continuous growth through training for the organization.
    • Work with the President, Operational VP’s, and Staff VP’s to create a holistic process, with tools the management organization will utilize.
    • Perform periodic audits of existing processes, documentation, initiatives to verify success.
  • Analyze strategy and propose new ideas (20%)
    • Identify areas for improvement and growth through implementations and interaction with the management team.
    • Track results and performance of existing and new implementations to ensure success and completeness.
    • Suggest next steps for the organization and develop scalable structure for the company moving forward.             
    • Other duties as assigned.

 

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Bachelor Degree in a business field or public relations, communications, journalism. Must have outstanding interpersonal skills with an ability to write exceptionally well.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and experience in building documentation and organizational systems.
  • Successful track record in leading or managing cross-functional initiatives related to documentation development or process implementation.
  • Strong collaboration and alignment skills with the ability to communicate vision and gain alignment with senior leadership, external partners, and peers.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to effectively translate complex ideas and tailor key messages to multiple audiences.

TOTAL COMPENSATION

Salaried position, compensation based on experience.
