This year the week of February 9-13, 2015 is National School Bus Driver Recognition Week. During this week we give thanks and recognition to our school bus drivers for their dedication to the students they transport to and from school daily. We invite you to join us during this week as we acknowledge the importance of school bus drivers to a student’s education and well being.
Maneuvering through traffic in darkness and daylight, bitter cold and brutal heat, school bus drivers travel thousands of miles in all kinds of conditions while managing the conduct of the children on the bus, to deliver their precious cargo, to school and home again. The breadth and scope of this responsibility is huge.
Throughout School Bus Driver Recognition Week, GO Riteway encourages students, parents and schools to share a smile and a heartfelt “thank you” to the drivers dedicated to performing their duties in a safe and courteous manner. Motorists, give bus drivers a break, slow down, and watch for children getting on and off the bus.
When asked what they remember best about school days many who rode the school bus will tell you it was their school bus driver. Morning and afternoon he or she would be sitting behind the wheel with a kind word and a smile and sometimes even a joke. Please join us in recognizing all these caring people and the outstanding work that they do.
